Kisaruni Girls Secondary School opens in Kenya.

In January 2011, Free The Children opened its first all-girls secondary school in Kenya, allowing Maasai and Kipsigis girls to continue learning beyond middle school.

The Kisaruni Girls Secondary School includes a chemistry lab, a biology classroom, a computer lab and much more. Girls from different communities in the rural Maasai Mara region get the chance (so very rare for girls in this region) to learn advanced math, computer skills, how to run their own businesses and leadership skills to empower them to become role models and visionary leaders in their communities.
